Уилсон, Колин

Колин Уилсон (англ. Colin Wilson; 26 июня 1931 — 5 декабря 2013) - английский писатель и философ. Написал множество книг в жанре фантастики, писал также об оккультизме, философии, паранормальных явлениях, преступлениях, социологии и прочих темах. В общей сложности написал более ста книг. Разрабатывал свою философскую систему, которую называл "новый экзистенциализм" или "феноменологический экзистенциализм".

Биография

Колин Уилсон родился 26 июня 1931 года в городе Лестер в Великобритании в семье рабочего обувной фабрики. Впервые стал интересоваться наукой в средней школе, много читал, однако постепенно его интерес всё больше смещался в сторону писательской деятельности. Поворотным событием для Уилсона стало знакомство с произведениями Джорджа Бернарда Шоу и особенно «Человек и сверхчеловек», после которого он начал писать эссе и рассказы, считая себя последователем Шоу. После учебы Уилсон пробовал себя на нескольких несвязанных с литературой местах работы, но безуспешно.

В 1956 году была опубликована книга "Посторонний", которая принесла ему первый большой успех. В книге исследуется опыт социальной изоляции и противостояния обществу на примере жизни и работ таких известных фигур как Альбер Камю, Жан-Поль Сартр, Герман Гессе, Федор Достоевский и других. Книга моментально стала бестселлером и поспособствовала продвижению экзистенциализма в Великобритании[1]. Она была переведена на более тридцати языков и постоянно переиздается по сей день.
